the Preparations continue!

From the far wall, our Beloved Austro-Hungarian Emperor and Empress gaze down on me as I am slaving away at planning the future shenanigans for our Party of Heroes and starting to finalise the details of our next Castle Falkenstein LARP which I am hosting in May.


Our Austro-Hungarian-led international group of characters will be posing as citizens of Heligoland (a small German-speaking island, just off the north-west coast of Germany, which by a strange stroke of fate is part of the British Empire) and attending an “Empire Ball” in Wales in the presence of Queen Victoria.

I wonder what Curious Creature might be involved somewhere in the next part of our adventures?

One day, I aspire to owning a lovely “Steampunked“ analytical engine like this one. It would look less out of place in our Victorian style dining room than my existing laptop.


Host’s Notes: We are attending an “Empire Ball” at Llandrindod Wells (more information here) in mid-Wales on the Saturday evening. The town has a Victorian Festival every year (which we used to go to regularly but haven’t been for several years) and is holding the ball to raise money for the Festival in August. The ball celebrates to 200th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s birth.
